John Clifford's new book Graphic Icons: Visionaries Who Shaped Modern Graphic Design was recently released by Peachpit Press, and it's a must have for any fan of Modernist graphic design. I'm extremely proud to have contributed several pieces from New Documents and my own personal collection to help illustrate this fantastic survey of design history, and to be quoted in John's section about collecting graphic design. It really is a wonderful book, and I urge you all to go pick up a copy now.
New Documents is a shop specializing in mid-twentieth century graphic design. I am designer by trade, and launched New Documents in January 2012 as an outlet to curate my personal design collection. Part of the enjoyment I get out of collecting comes from living with things that are culturally and historically important. Another part comes from researching, learning, and discovering new things about the early years of the industry I now work in. Through New Documents, I hope to pass along a little of this magic to you.
